Austin Latour AM 2 hours robot club/open lab

Today for my open lab I was researching more of what I need and what I need to know for my piano roll perforator. I found a video on how to control a stepper motor here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qwrnUeSpYQ
These were great resources for me to learn to program an arduino to run a stepper motor. I also was doing more research into midi files and programs and how they work and what is needed to communicate with the instrument or other interface. Links here: https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=100382.0
These were helpful, however I still need to understand how I could get the arduino to understand these codes and respond how I want it to. I hope that the arduino would be able to process this information. I also found that I need a stepper motor driver, which Mr. Burnham may have in class. I will begin to make rough sketches either today or next open lab/robot club. I am happy with the progress of my project and hopeful that in the next couple months I can have it working with litte work needed to perfect it. I also found a video of someone who did something similar here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8ManoX9mUs
